Kipkemboi and Kemuma are Nairobi City Marathon champions

Enock Kipkemboi and Joy Kemuma were crowned the champions of the 2026 edition of the Nairobi City marathon held today in the Kenyan capital city, Nairobi.

After failing to finish Eldoret City Marathon on April 26th, Kipkemboi returned to the competiton, now at the Nairobi City marathon to claim the title in 2:09:33 ahead of Robert Kwambai (2:09:51) and Shadrack Kenduiywo (2:09:56) for top three positions.

“I came with the ambition of winning and I have won. Despite falling, I recovered well and came for the top prize,” he said.

In women, Kemuma who clocked 2:27:43 for the title, was also at the Eldoret City Marathon where she finished in 6th position.

Jacinta Chepkoech was second at 2:30:48 and Nancy Jepleting was third in 2:31:07.

“The victory is better because in finished in 13th last year after failing to train well,” she said.
