Kabras Sugar and Zetech Oaks were crowned the champions of 2026 Driftwood 7s that came to an end today at the Mombasa Sports Club in Mombasa County.
Once again, Kabras beat their rivals and circuit leaders KCB Rugby 15-05 to claim their second title after winning the Dala 7s, the second leg of the series in Kisumu.
Despite the win, Kabras remains in second position ahead of 5th and final round of the 7s circuit in Embu next weekend.
KCB won the opening leg of Prinsloo 7s after beating Kabras then went ahead to claim the Kabeberi 7s in Nairobi.
The Bankers have amassed 76 points with Kabras in second at 73. KCB collected 22 points at Prinsloo, 13 at Dala, 22 at Kabeberi and 19 at Driftwood then Kabras won Driftwood 7s, with 22 points while Menengai Oilers occupy third position on 58 points, 15 points behind Kabras. The Oilers have enjoyed a strong run over the last three legs, following seven points at Prinsloo with 19 at Dala, 17 at Kabeberi and 15 at Driftwood.
In 4th is Daystar Falcons followed by Kenya Harlequin both on 52 points with Falcons enjoying better point difference.
Mwamba sit sixth on 45 points, followed by Nondescripts and Strathmore Leos, who are both on 41 points. Nondescripts hold seventh after collecting 17 points at Prinsloo, while Strathmore’s 19-point haul at Kabeberi remains their best result of the campaign as KU Blak Blad are ninth on 36 points, with MMUST tenth on 27 and Nakuru 11th on 25..
Kisumu sit 12th on 15 points, while Uganda 7s and Zetech Oaks are tied on 13 points.
In Division 2, Zetech Oaks easily defeated Stallions Rugby 36-07 during the final play.
Oaks, representing students from Zetech University recorded their maiden 7s Division two title.
And with the victory, Zetech has been promoted to Division at the 5th and final round of Nations Sevens circuit, the Embu 7s next weekend.
