CHAN: CAF officials to inspect Kenyan facilities next month

Confederation of Africa football (CAF) officials are expected in the country to inspect the Africa nations Championships (CHAN) preparedness set for next year.

Speaking in Eldoret during Kipchoge Keino stadium on Friday morning, deputy director of CHAN Herbert Mwachiro Tawa said that CAF officials will be in the country on 7th September to inspect the facilities.

“CAF officials will be in the country on 7th September and they have to find us ready for the championships. We are trying to ensure that everything is in order before they come,” said Mwachiro who was accompanied by accompanied by Sports Kenya acting Director General Saima Ondimu and Football Kenya federation officials.

The CAF officials will be making their second visit in the country and will be visiting the five facilities earmarked to host the continental event.

With all 16 teams ready to come to Kenya, after they qualified for the biennual competition, Mwachiro was optimistic that the delegation will find all things in order.

“Imagine all these countries, from all corners of the continent will be coming to Kenya, how can we miss to host such? We must ensure that we host the event,” assured Mwachiro.
