Athletics Kenya President Jack Tuwei has condemned a few athletes who are killing the clean athletics Sport in the country.
Speaking over the weekend at narok stadium during the third and last athletic Kenya track and field meeting, Tuwei said doping demon is still hunting the federation.
Tuwei said that they will be selecting a good team for both All Africa games as well as World Championships and they will not stop to fighting the doping menace through sensitization on the dangers of doping.
“As much as we are trying to end the menace, it is quite unfortunate that some athletes are still doping. Kenya is in category A and we have to get out of this position. Our athletes have been doing so well out there and a few athletes cannot spoil the running fraternity. We want to promote clean sport,” added Tuwei.
He said that the federation has summoned Abraham Kiptum’s manager to appear before them to explain what happened in London.
“Last week we interviewed with one of the managers whose athlete was to compete in London marathon and found to have doped. We have summoned them. We want to take action on any manager not just athletes. Those managing our athletes from abroad, we are going to summon them,” he said.
