Philomena Abakah bagged a brace when Simba Queens humiliated Yei Joint Stars at the ongoing CAF Women qualifiers at the CECAFA club championships in Tanzania.
Abakah scored the second goal and the 4th goal in the 4-0 unbeaten run in in pool B to qualify into the semifinals set for Monday.
Kenyan international Vivian Corazon Aquino broke the dead lock in the 14th minute to give Simba a 1-0 lead before Abakah scoring the second eight minutes later for 2-0 and Opah Clement netted the third in the 31st to give her side a deserving 3-0 lead into break.
On resumption, Abaka was on target for her brace in the 63rd minute to seal the victory for the hosts to take charge of the pool.
In the first match, they beat She Corporate of Uganda on Wednesday 2-0 with Aquino and Pambani Kuzoya scoring.
In the opening match, they squeezed Garde Republicaine former Vihiga player also the golden boot winner with Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL) Situma and Aquino scored.
