Absent Khanyereri, Wafula to fight for Kenya Ladies Open title at Sigona

Kenya’s top golfers led by Naomi Wafula will lead Kenya’s top women golfers at this weekend’s Kenya Ladies Open Amateur Strokeplay championships at the Sigona Golf club.

In absence of defending champion Serah Khanyereri, Wafula from Kitale golf club will be the centre of attraction after competing at the Kenya Amateur Golf championships where the East Africa ladies will compete in the 54-hole tournament that counts for the World Amateur Rankings.

Ugandans and Tanzanians will battle for the title where Wafula lead the golfers after Khanyereri from Uganda failed to turn up for the title defence.

Khanyereri beat Wafula with four shots for the title  to lift the title where top Kenyan golfers like Channelle Wangari, Mercy Nyanchama, Faith Chemutai, Agnes Nyakio and Kiambu’s Joyce Wanjiru.

Ugandans are led by Martha Babirye, Eva Magala, Peace Kabasweka and Roza Mbillizi.
