Harriet Achieng Okach has been appointed as the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) chairperson following the resignation of Alexander Sasha Mutai last week.
The union made history by appointing Achieng as the first women to lead after the decision was made on Wednesday June 5th during a Board meeting following the exit of Mutai ahead of the Special General Meeting.
Okach has been serving as a Board member of the union and appointed the Director in charge of Marketing and Commercial.
She earlier on served as the Honorary Treasurer of Kisumu RFC and she is a Communications strategist and entrepreneur.
On the pitch, she played for the national team on the international rugby scene.
