Athletics Kenya has partnered with Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) to teach athletes on the importance of clean sport ahead of 2023 World Athletics championships in Budapest, Hungary.
On Tuesday, the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) in partnership with Athletics Kenya trained over 100 probable athletes for the championship set for August 19the to August 27th 2023.
Martin Yauma, the ADAK’s head of education and research said that they are urging and advising athletes to keep off prohibited substances.
He added that their aim is to ensure they give the good image of the country which is currently at stake and that the main cause of athletes doping is the shortcut to get rich quickly which is contributed by support staff.
“Money is the main cause that has contributed to athletes to dope, they are cheated with support personnel to go for shortcuts to wealth.” Said Yauma.
Federation’s executive member and director for Youth Committee Barnabas Korir said that the rule says athletes should be tested three times ten months before competition.
” We want to make Information available to athletes who will be able to participate in the world competition and identify athletes and those who already have qualification,” said Korir.
