Kenyan teams at the 2018 CAVB African Women Club Championships will have to win their pool matches to avoid meeting at the semi final.
According to the draw released today, with the games set ton serve off tomorrow in Egypt, Kenyan women representatives Kenya Pipeline and Kenya Prisons are in pool C and D respectively.
If any Kenyan side finishes first an the other second, then there will be a Kenyan fight or both teams to finish top or second to their rivals to ensure their final birch.
Kenya Pipeline is in pool C alongside POOL C El-Shams of Egypt, Fap from Cameroon, DGSP of Congo and Vision Club from Uganda while Kenya Prison is in pool D together with Injs of Cameroon, Customs (Nigeria) and Douanes from Burkina Faso.
Hosts Al-Ahly sports club of Egypt. Is the top seed leading pool A with Uganda’s Nkumba University, Nyong (Cameroon) and Rwandan side Rwanda Revenue Authority.
Pool B consists of Tunisian Carthage, Harare City (Zimbabwe) Chlef (Algeria and BDF 6 of Botswana.
CAVB President Dr. Elwani Amr together with Mrs. Howayda chaired the technical meeting with 19 teams represented out of the expected 22. The host Club Al-Ahly of Egypt Promised to host the best tournament. During The Meeting, the top 4 clubs from last years’ championship were seeded in each of the four pools. According to the CAVB regulations, No two clubs from the same country should appear in the same group.
