Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has today banned former Boston marathon champion for six years after testing positive for prohibited substance metabolite of triamcinolone acetonide (a corticosteroid).
Born and raised in Mount Elgon Bungoma County, the 28 year-old will serve six years as her title, the 2021 Boston marathon was stripped after providing false information to anti-doping officials.
Kipyokei then provided false and/or misleading information in trying to explain her positive test, “including fake documentation which she alleged came from a hospital,” according to the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), which handles doping cases in track and field.
With her title gone, Edna Kiplagat will be elevated to number one after finishing second
