Postponement of Africa Cross country championships has forced Athletics Kenya to close the national cross country camp that was based at the Kigari Teachers’ Training College in Embu.
Last week, confederation of Africa Athletics (CAA) postponed the Africa Cross Country Championships that were to be held in Lome, Togo this month.
And today, the federation decided to officially to end the camp where 42 athletes have been preparing for the continental event for the past three weeks.
CAA said that the surging Covid-19 infections in the West African nation forced them to postponed the championships without giving new dates for the race.
AK have lined up a series of athletics events, including the World Relay Championships trials and track and field weekend meetings.
