APS Bomet thrashed AFC Leopards to officially hand Gor Mahia their 22nd Kenya Premier League title.
Without playing any match today, Gor are officially the champions when APS Bomet stunned rival AFC Leopards 2-1 at the Kericho Green Stadium and the result meant that Leopards, who have played a game more than Gor cannot match.
Gor has picked 68 points while second placed Leopards have 64 points after the later playing a match better. And any results that either Gor or Leopards earn, they can’t change the position.
Philip Wasai bagged a brace for the APS as Cliff Otieno scored an on goal that was a consolation for the former champions, who last won the title way back in 1998.
At the Nyayo stadium, relegated side Sofapaka held Shabana to a 1-1 draw with goals from Francis Ghartey for Sofapaka before Shabana leveled through Kevin Omundi.
