Thomas Partey scored a goal and Nigeria was held at home by Ghana with the later qualifying for the 2022 FIFA world Cup in Qatar.

Partey’s goal in the 10th minute in Abuja was canceld out by Troost-Ekong after converting a penalty in the 22nd minute but that did not stop Black Stars of Ghana who will be back in the World Cup finals after qualifying in 2006, 2010 and 2014.
It was a blow to favourites Nigeria, who were chasing a seventh appearance in eight attempts since debuting at the 1994 World Cup.
Ghana started the two-leg tie as underdogs after a dismal showing at the Cup of Nations in January, with a loss to minnows the Comoros condemning them to a humiliating first-round exit
