Ethiopian Tigst Assefa defended her Berlin Marathon marathon by breaking the mixed women marathon held today in Berlin, Germany.
Assefa defended her title she won last year in 2:11.53 ahead of Kenyan Sheila Chepkirui in 2:17.49 and Tanzanian Magdalena Shauri in third at 2:18.41 for podium positions
