Kenya Premier League (KPL) side Bandari fc continued with its pre-season friendly matches on high after thrashing Taita Taveta FC in a friendly match played at Serani Sports Ground in Mombasa today.
After finishing second in the KPL for the first time, humiliated Taita Taveta 13-0 scored 7-0 at half time.
The cockers scored through Joshua Oyoo netted a hat-trick as Boniface Akenga, Fareed “Zidane” Mohamed, Joakim Dhahili and David King’atua netted a brace each with Swaleh Chacha and Benjamin Mosha scoring a goal apiece.
Akenga set the tone for the drubbing with a second-minute opener that saw him beat the on-rushing Sagalla goalkeeper Rashid Ramadhan after a fine combination with Oyoo.
Three minutes later, Mosha was on the mark when put through by defender Hassan Iddi. After a long layoff, Fareed announced his return with a goal in the 21st minute. Oyoo scored another a minute later.
Fareed netted Bandari’s fifth in the 37th before Oyoo scored two quick goals in the 39th and 44th.
Youngster Chacha continued the rout four minutes into the second half and four minutes later Akenga completed his brace. King’atua, who replaced Akenga in the 64th minute, found the net with his trademark pile-drivers a minute after his introduction.
Bandari got their 11th goal through defender Dhahili in the 83rd minute, King’atua netting his second in the 86th minute before Dhahili had the final word deep in injury time.
