Beatrice Chepkoech runs with a world record in Monaco DL

Commonwealth Games 1,500m silver medalist Beatrice Chepkoech broke 3,000m steeplechase with a world record in today’s IAAF Diamond League in Monaco, France.

It was also good outing for reigning Commonwealth Games 1,500m silver medalist Timothy Cheruiyot while Olympic 3,000m steeplechase champion Conseslus Kipruto finishes third.

The former Africa Athletics 1,500m bronze medalists ran the world record in 8:44.32, snatching it from under siege Olympic 3,000m steeplechase champion Ruth Jebet, who changed her nationality from Kenya to Bahrain. Jebet is being investigated for use of Erythropoietin (EPO).

Chepkoech won the race followed by American Courtney Frerichs in 9:00.85 as former world champion Hyvin Kiyeng completed the podium in 9:04.41.

Cheruiyot who lost the Queens Games title to Elijah Manangoi,  he made a sweet revenge by winning in 3:28.41 ahead world champion Manangoi who came second timing 3:29.64.
