Reigning world under 18 2,000m steeplechase champion Leonard Bett and Moitalel Mpoke will the sole runners in 3,000m steeplechase and 400m hurdles in the world under 20 championships gold rush in Tampere, Finland.

Bett will be the only Kenyan to fly the water and barriers race after Philemon Ruto failed to start due to an injury.
Coming from Bomet county, Bett qualified to the finals when he finished second behind Ethiopian Getnet Wale..
wale won in the second heat 8:39.15 ahead of Bett’s 8:39.30 while another Kenyan Ruto was injured.
Bett will be taking on Ethiopians Wale and Takele Nigate together with Ugandans Albert Chemutai and Denis Cherotich as he chases second global victory.
Moitalel Mpoke will be the sole Kenyan runner in 400m hurdles. The World Under-18 silver medalist qualified for the semifinals after winning in his heat clocking 50.87 while James Mucheru failed to qualify in the second heat after coming in fifth position clocking 52.88.
