For the second time a row, Bishop Njenga girls will represent Western Region at the national Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom football tournament.
It was all Lugari title winners as Lugari Blue Saints were the boys champions after edging out fellow Saints The Saints from Mumias in an all Saints final.
With goals from Sheila Wikonza and Maureen Ominde ensured Bishop successfully defends their title they won last year to earn a position for the national championships following their 2-0 victory against Ibinzo Secondary in the final match played at Bukhungu today.
The win was good as they pocketed Ksh200,000 and a trophy, while Ibinzo went home with Sh100,000 in prize money.
Wikonza and Ominde netted the second half goals in the 53rd and 58th minutes respectively to sink Ibinzo.
In all Saints final, Lugari Blue Saints from Lugari recovered from one goal down to beat The Saints from Mumias 2-1 in a thrilling final played at Bukhungu stadium.
Atem Kato scored the opener for Mumias Saints in the 50th minute but Watson Anami leveled for Lugari’s in the 63rd minute with Lugari’s Reagan Mumela sealing the victory in the in the 65th minute.
