Bitok names Malkia’s provisional squad

Malkia Strikers head coach Paul Bitok today named a provisional squad for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Africa qualifiers.

The national women volleyball team will be facing off with Botswana on January 4 before taking on hosts Cameroon on Day Two and end the campaign against Nigeria who replaced Mauritius.

Kenya will be gunning for the sole slot reserved for Africa to make her third appearance at the Olympics having featured in the 2000 and 2004 editions in Sydney and Athens respectively.

The provisional squad includes: Jane Wacu – Club Arsu, Joy Lusenaka – Prisons Kenya, Esther Mutinda – Kenya Pipeline (Setters), Edith Mukuvilani – Prisons Kenya, Lorine Chebet – Prisons Kenya, Gladys Ekaru – Kenya Pipeline, Carolyne Sirengo – DCI, Joan Chelagat – Prisons Kenya, Trizah Atuka – Kenya Pipeline (Middle blockers), Sharon Chepchumba – Kenya Pipeline, Emmaculate Chemtai – Prisons Kenya, Violet Makuto – KCB (Opposites), Noel Murambi – KCB, Leonida Kasaya – KCB,  Pamela Jepkirui – Prisons Kenya, Jemimah Siangu – KCB, Mercy Moim – Prisons Kenya (captain) (Outside hitters), Lincy Jeruto – KCB, Agripina Kundu – Kenya Pipeline, Elizabeth Wanyama – Prisons Kenya (Liberos).
