Bondeni and Moi University crowned Uasin Gishu Association champions

Bondeni FC and Moi University Queens were crowned the champions of Uasin Gishu County Football Association league that came to an end today at the Eldoret ASK Ground.

Bondeni, who faced off with Kipsinende FC at the final round today claimed the men’s title with a solitary goal scored by Dennis Injeni, when he easily converted a cross provided by Chrispus Kenoro in the 73rd minute of the match following a barren draw in the first half.

Coming into the final match in second position with 79 points, it was a good result for Bondeni, who toppled Kipsinende who had 82 points in the 20 team format.

 Champions captain George Amimo said the win came in at the right time in the second position for the title on the final day and final match.

“This was a great deal for us and we have been yearning to win this title. We are the first ones to have won and this will help us once we are promoted,” said Amimo.

In other match, Boarder farm played out to a 2-all draw against Sugunanga in an earlier match played at the same venue.

In women, Moi University were crowned champions after beating Bondeni Divas and Lower Kipkaren Starlets at the same venue.

In juniors, Bondeni Juniors played out to a one-all draw against Homeboyz Juniors and Homeboyz returned with a 2-0 win over DeJebet FC.
