World under 20 1,500m champion Brenda Chebet has been banned after violating anti-doping rules.
The Kenyan runner, who anchored the Kenya team to win the world cross country mixed relay title in Bathurst, Australia was banned by Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for use of Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS).
According to the AIU, Chebet’s all competitive results from the date of sample collection on July 8, 2023, are disqualified with all resulting consequences, including forfeiture of any medal, points, and prizes.
The 19 year old Chebet was part of Kenya team for these years’ world championships in Budapest but she was dropped.
