Reigning Chicago marathon champion Brigid Kosgey returned to London Marathon to claim the title beating defending champion Vivian Cheruiyot.
The results were the reverse of last year where Cheruiyot won with Kosgey second.
The two time Honolulu marathon winner clocked 2:18:20 for her second victory in the World Marathon Majors, after Chicago last year, which was her personal best and second half of a women’s marathon
Cheruiyot finished in a time of 2:20:14 and Roza Dereje of Ethiopia was third, 37 seconds further back.
