The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and National Olympic Committee of Kenya(NOCK) congratulated newly electd Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa for his victory.
Mwendwa, who was re-election on Saturday during the national Annual General Meeting (AGM) will serve another four years at the helm of the football federation.
In a letter, CAF president Ahamad Ahmad told Mwendwa that is was not a surprise for the ‘brilliant’ victory.
“On behalf of the Executive Committee of CAF and personally, I wish you every success in your endeavors,” read part of the letter sent to president Mwendwa, signed by CAF president Ahmad Ahmad.
This second term, which you obtained by an impressive majority, is the demonstration that your entire term has been appreciated and strongly supported.
“I encourage you on this path to success which reflects the prestigious ambition of the Kenyan nation which has made the sport a national priority,” said Ahmad.
On the other hand, NOCK, in a letter signed by its acting secretary Francis Mutuku challenged Mwendwa to deliver a national football team to the Olympics
