Menengai Oilers’ players Erick Ombasa and Samuel Muregi will be making their debut in the Shujaa team at the second leg of HSBC World sevens Rugby in Cape Town sevens this weekend.
The 20 year old Ombasa and 22 year old Muregi will be joined by regular Oscar Ouma who will replace injured Collins Injera and Dennis Ombach who picked hamstring and ankle injuries respectively.
Injera and Ombachi were ruled out of opening series in Dubai last over the weekend where Shujaa collected 10 points, finishing 7th overall.
In Dubai, Kenya lost 19-12 to Australia at the fifth place semifinal, after losing out to New Zealand in the Main Cup quarters when they finished second in pool A matches.
Ouma the seasoned player was unavailable for Dubai7s will lead the 22 year old Muregi from Menengai Oilers
The duo-Muregi, Ombasa- who all play for youthful Menengai Oilers make their series debuts after impressive performances with their club side during the 2017 Kenya National Sevens Circuit.
The innocent Simiyu led charges is on group A again with hosts South Africa, France and Russia.
