Pro. Musangi Golf Day: Philip Shiharsy sinks an eagle to claim 4th title

Kitale club’s top golfer Philip Shiharsy sunk a rare eagle to win this year’s Pro. Musangi Golf Tournament played on Saturday on par 73 Kitale Golf Course.

With his experience on the course, handicap +2 golfer played one under 72 Gross to win the annual event that attracted top golfers from the club.

He shot an eagle on hole six par five, together with three back to back pars in the opening holes, went down to a bogey on hole four recovered with a par on hole five par three for one under 36 in the front nine.

As defending champion, Shiharsy started well with three pars in the back nine, sinking a bogey on par 3 hole 13 but recovered well with a birdie in the proceeding hole par five, playing level 37.

Winning the prize for the 4th time since the tournament started said the tournament has been good for him and defending the title was not easy.

“The tournament was good, well organised that is why I defended my title,” said Shiahrsy who won in 2002, 2011, 2016 and now 2017.

Handicap 24 golfer Paul Mutisia was second with 71 beating Ruth Kae on count back as Patrick Kae was third (73).
