The reigning World half marathon bronze medalist Catherine Reline Amanang’ole and Ethiopian Chala Ketema Regasa were the winners of today’s Abu Dhabi marathon held Abu Dhabi.
Competing in her second marathon after failing to complete London marathon, Reline won the women’s title after clocking 2:20:34 ahead of Eritrea’s Dolshi Tesfu Teklegergish came in second in the race at 2:23:47 with another Aurelia Jerotich Kiptui sealing the podium in 2:26:48.
She also finished an impressive third at the Copenhagen Half Marathon for the 22-year-old coached byu Erick Kimaiyo at Kapsait in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
In men, Ethiopian Regassa won the title after clocking 2:06:16 to break the course record ahead of Djibout’s Ibrahim Bouh finished second in a time of 2:06:33 as Kenya’s Wilfred Kigen rounded up the podium in 2:06:47.
