Champions General service Unit (GSU) and Kenya Prisons started on a high on their way to defend the Nandi Governor’s Cup in the volleyball championships that served off yesterday at the Kapsabet Showground in Nandi County.
Men defending champions GSU started with the winning way by beating Kenya Army in straight sets of 25-22, 25-16 and 25-16) in pool C encounter.
In other matches, Blazers defeated highly charged Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) 25-19, 17-25, 28-31, 30-32 in pool B as Kenya Prison battled their way to beat Equity 2-3 (17-25, 21-25, 25-15, 25-19, 11-25) in pool A.
Women champions Kenya Prisons registered double wins, with straight sets starting from Kwanthanze High school and Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) in 12-25, 23-25 and 11-25 and 20-25, 17-25 and 12-25 respectively.
