Champions Lejirma, Muchangi and Makokha exit Kenya Amateur Match play in Sigona

Kenya Amateur match Play champion John Lejirma, former champion Isaac Makokha who have exited the Kenya Amateur Match play championships at the Royal Club, Nairobi as the tournament marks its 100 years in existence.

The Kenya Railways Lejirmah fell in the first round against Muthaiga’s youngster Taimur Malik 2-1 Tuimur.

Tuimur went ahead to lose in the second round against Edgar Brian as he will be facing off with Njoroge Kibugu in the 3rd round on Saturday in the three day event.

Fresh from winning bronze at the Deaflympic Games golf bronze medalist from Vet Lab, who won the title in 2020 lost in the first round against 2019 champion and Limuru player Paul Muchangi.

Muchangi went ahead to reigning KAGC champion Adel Balala in the second round and will be facing off with John Kamais who beat Kitale Philip Shiharsy.

Tomorrow’s third round
