Champions Kenya Police and KCB were the winners while former champions Tusker were the biggest losers during today’s FKF Cup round of 32 matches played across the country.
The law enforcers were 0-1 winners against Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) at the Mambo Leo stadium in Kisumu.
At the Kipchoge stadium in Eldoret, KCB had to wait until penalties to beat their hosts Wafalme FC (Harvest of Hope Africa- HOHA) that plays in the County League.
KCB, who were the finalists last year won 5-4 after converting all penaltis from Michael Ochieng, Derrick Otanga, Kevin Okumu, James Kinyanjui and Captain Nashon Alembi scoring the last kick.
HOHA penalties were converted by Elvis Majabe, Isaac Mandia, Payai Arok and Joseph Machabe with Brian Kipkoech’s shot saved by KCB’s keeper Brian Olang’o.
In Coast, Alfred Tanui bagged a brace as Jackson Dwang was on target when former champions Bandari were 3-1 winners against Azizia 3-1 at the Mbaraki stadium.
Tusker was eliminated from the competition after falling to National Super league side Nairobi United 5-4 in the spot kicks following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
David Polepole scored first for the brewers in the 15th minute before Michael Karamor leveled for United to force the match into the penalties.
In the spot kicks, United scored all through Karamor, John Otieno, Brian Ogutu, Jim Ouma and Adams Nyambane while Tusker’s George Kaddu from Uganda missed the spot after John Njuguna, Alex Onchari, Polepole and Collins Odiambo converting.
