Double Olympic gold medalist Beatrice Chebet and Nelly Chechirchir were the only Kenyans to record victory at the Rabat Diamond League.
Chebet, also the double world cross country champion ran the second fastest time in the 3,000m, missing the world record set 32 years ago.
The 5,000m and 10,000m Olympic champion won the 3,000m title in 8:11.56, which is an African record to move to second position in the world after China’s Wang Junxia with a world record of 8:06.11 set in 1993.
At 27, Chebet has world records in 10,000m and road 5km
In the 3,000m steeplechase, Kenya’s Edmund Serem, the world under 20 3,000m steeplechase champion was third behind home boy Soufiane El Bakkali.
El Bakkali secured the win in a world lead of 8:00.70 ahead of Frederik Ruppert in 8:01.49 and Serem’s 8:07.47.
In the 800m, Botswana’s Tshepiso Masalela secured the title with a meeting record and personal Best of 1:42.70 with Burgin’s 1:43.34 and Kenya’s Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi came third in 1:43.37.
Kenya’s Reynold Cheruiyot managed to finish second in the 1,500m behind American Jonah Koech. Koech won the title in 3:31.43 with Cheruiyot coming second at at 3:31.78 as Festus Lagat clocked 3:32.06 for third.
In the same women race, Kenya’s Nelly Chepchirchir won the 1500m title in 3:58.04, adding on her Doha meeting last weekend.
South African Akani Simbine continued with his dominance in the 100m after beating Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala for the third time in a row, Xiamen, Shangai and now Rabat.
He crossed the finish line at 9.95 with Omanyala coming second at 10.05 with American Fred Kerley in third at 10.07.
