Menengai Oilers Cheetahs defeated KCB Lions to be were crowned the champions of the 2024 Rugby Super Series Cup champions.
The match at the RFUEA Grounds was good for the Cheetahs who won 18-10 for the title today. At the same time, Rhinos, who had beaten Cheetahs during the kakamega leg last weekend failed to travel to Nairobi for the final leg citing lack of payment.
Cheetahs went on first with Quinto Odongo converting from the penalty before Lions’ leveled through a penalty through Levy Amunga.
Odongo handed the champions another penalty for a 6-3 lead into break and after break, Lions earned a converted try by Givens Oduor for 6-10 lead for the lions. However, Felix Odhiambo handed Cheetahs the first try for 11-10.
Ibrahim Oyoo converted his try to hand Cheetahs’ an 18-10 victory.
