Nancy Chelangat Koech was guided by her brother Geoffrey Kiplagat to qualify for 1,500m T11 finals at the ongoing Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
Chelangat and Kiplangat finished fourth in the second heat in the time of 4:51.68 seconds ahead of Monday morning’s final.

Coming from Kericho County, Chelangat competed in the 200m and 1,500m at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games where she won silver in the 1,500m in 4:42.14, finishing 16th overall in the 200m.
At the 2019 World Championships in Dubai, she won a bronze in the 1,500m in 4:56.28.
Her compatriot Mary Waithera Njoroge guided by Bernard Korir failed to make the cut after finishing third in 4:52.54.
