Chemining and Ngumbao are Kenya Prisons Cross Country champions

The Paris 10km Road Race champion Loice Chemining and Shadrack Ngumbao were the winners of yesterday’s Kenya Prisons Service Cross Country Championships held at the Ruiru Prisons.

After finishing second last year, Chemining came in with force to claim the title at 35:44:50 ahead of Brillian Chepkorir (33:27) and Lilian Odira completing the podium at 33:44 as former champion and world marathon record holder Ruth Chepng’etich finishing 4th in 33:51.

With victory, Chemining is set for Osaka Marathon on come February 24th 2025 after National Cross-Country Championships slated for February in Eldoret.

Little known Ngumbao won the men’s title at 30:11.5 after competing for the 7th time ahead of last year champion Boaz Kipkurgut (30:43.5) and Silas Chepkwony ‘s 30:48.
