Chepkurui and Kiprop reign supreme at Chepsaita Cross country in juniors

Cynthia Chepkurui and Kelvin Kibiwott Kiprop were the winners of 6km and 8km under 20 women and men at the today’s Great Chepsaita Cross Country held at the Chepsaita Secondary school ground.

Chepkirui won the 6km junior title after crossing the finish line at 21:17 ahead of Yvone Chepchirchir Chepkoskei who was second in 21:43 and Joyline Chepkemoi completing the podium at 21:50.

Chepkurui said that the course was challenging but a win makes all things better

“The course was the most challenging. When I go back to my training camp, I will focus my attention on hill work,” said Chepkurui.

Kiprop, the winner of Athletics Kenya Iten Cross Country said that he faced a tough challenge from Alamisi.

“I knew Alamisi was strong and I stuck with him from the early stages of the cross country race. I pulled away from the third lap and I sustained the pace all the way to the finish,” Kiprop.
