Africa Games 10,000m champion Janeth Chepngetich and upstart Alfred Kipkemboi Cheruiyot were the winners of the 4th edition of Tinderet Barng’etuny Mountain Run held today in Tinderet, Nandi County.
The former Africa Youth 1,500m bronze medalist, Chepngetich won the 12km women title after cutting the tape in 1:23:18 ahead of Mercy Chemutai (1:26:48) with Miriam Chepkirui coming third at 1:28:04.
In men, Cheruiyot won the title after stopping the timer at 1:09:04 beating Ken Koros to second at 1:09:33 and Rocharf Omaya Atuya on third after clocking 1:09:35.
However, it was a bad day in office for the defending champion Fredrick Domong’ole who finished a distance 8th in 1:10:46.
