Former Boston Marathon champion Sharon Cherop and newcomer Leonard Langat were the winners of the inaugural Eldama Ravine half marathon on Saturday 5th in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County.
Cherop, who last month Chemususu Half marathon in the same venue, won the 21km distance timing 73:19 to win the title followed by Gladys Koech (73:46) and Judy Cherono completed the podium in 74:09.
Cherop, who is planning to compete at Ljubljana marathon later this month.
“This was part of my speed work as I prepare for Ljubljana marathon,” said Cherop, the 2018 Eldoret City marathon winner.
Fresh from finishing 2nd at the 2019 Chemususu Half marathon, Langat from Nakuru County won the men’s 21km in 63:23 followed closely by Wilfred Kigen (64:00) and Phenas Kipleting to complete the podium timing 64:15.
