Former world junior 2,000m steeplechase champion Daisy Jepkemei defied her elder sister’s respect to edge her elder sister the former world junior champion Norah Jeruto to claim the 10km Eldama Ravine title held on Friday 5th in Baringo County.
While Shadrack Kipngetich edged out Michale Kibet, who missed out to represent the country at the world athletics Championships in Doha to second in 10km.
Jepkemei won the title in 34:01.61 ahead of Jeruto (34:11.19 and Beatrice Cheboi completing the podium timing 34:24.19.
Kipngetich, a track runner won the title timing 30:03.61 followed by Kibet (30:15.26 and Edwin Kibet in third clocking 30:19.74.
