Cheruiyot scores four as Langas Super Stars whip Elim in a reschedule match

Simon Cheruiyot scored four goals with Kevin Owino netting one as Langas Super Stars (LSS) whipped Elim FC in the rescheduled match to mark the end of Football Kenya Federation Western Region Zone B played at Webuye Pan-paper stadium in Bungoma County.

The match was rescheduled after LSS successfully launched an appeal against Elim, who declined the play their match against LSS three months ago in Eldoret claiming lack of adequate security personnel as well as ‘unloaded’ A.K 47 riffle.

Last week Elim won the case and were awarded points locking out LSS from playing at the mean league for promotion but they appealed where an independent committee was formed by the national government.

Instead of awarding points, they decided that the match should be played afresh with LSS as the hosts at Pan paper stadium where they won 5-2.

Jared Mageto, the LSS coach was delighted following the two victories- appeal and today’s win as they play Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) seeking promotion to the Division One league.

“The double win was good for the team as well as fans that have been supporting us throughout. We had to pay the kshs. 15,000m for the appeal that has yielded good results,” said Mageto.

He added that justice has been served after serving the committee with video and photos to demonstrated how they had prepared the venue for the match that Elim declined to play.

“Following the win, we now finish the league in the second position and will be playing a mean league on Saturday for promotion,” added Mageto.

LSS will MMUST on Saturday who was number one in Zone Ain the playoff while  Kakuma, who topped in Zone B plays Soy United, the second finishers in Zone A.
