Former world marathon bronze medalist has urged athletes to come out in large numbers to register in the ongoing nationwide Athletics Kenya registration.
Speaking at the Eliud Kipchoge Sports Complex today in Nandi County, the 2023 London marathon champion said that it will be important for all athletes to be captured in the Athletics Kenya data for easy recognition.
“I came here to register myself as an athlete and the process is very fast. I want to request the athletes to come in good numbers to make the work easier for the Athletics Kenya. From what I have learnt and seen, the registration is very important that we are going to know who is who in athletics,” said the former Berlin marathon silver medalist.
He added that for the athletes, coaches, management and the federation have to know each athlete and where they train and belong for easy identification.
“We have to know where you are training and your coach so that it can help fight doping cases and give us coaches’ easier work and fight fake coaches. This registration will help the federation understand well,” he assured.
“We are so many athletes in Kapsabet and we need to know each other.”
