Elly Ajowi became the second Kenyan boxer to be edged out from the Commonwealth Games as Eunice Mbugua books for Lawn Bowls quarter final in the ongoing games in Gold Coast, Australia.
Ajowi lost 5-0 to Scotland’s Scott Forest in the heavyweight round of 16 at the Oxenford Studios. A five bench Judgment ruled that Ajowi lost 30-26, 30-27, 30-26 and 30-27 to bow out of the championships following his country-mate Nick Okoth was eliminated by Michael Alexander from Trinidad and Tobago on medical case.
But Mbugua’s star continued to shine at the Broadbeach Bowls Club after winning her third round of women’s singles section C beating Nelly Senna from Botswana 21-10.
The former Lawn Tennis player plays for Nairobi club.
