Couple Ferdinand Omurwa Omanyala and wife Laventa Amutavi are expected to spice up the Athletics Kenya national trials to select a team that will compete at the World Athletics Relays set for May 10th to 11th in Guangzhou, China.
Coming from Kenya Police, Omanyala will be competing in the 100m as well as Amutavi from Nairobi, who will also be in the 100m at the Nyayo National stadium extravaganza on Saturday April 12th with the federation confirming the list of 53 athletes today.
The director of Competition Paul Mutwii, who also serves as the federation’s vice President emphasized that only eligible athletes will be competing.
Those invited are 4x100m, 4x400m, and mixed 4x400m events ahead of the selection will consider both performances on the day and World Athletics rankings.
Commonwealth Games 100m champion Omanyala will lead the sprinters in the 100m. the competition will feature 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, steeplechase, long jump, and high jump
