Daniel Ndeke swing into Five Talent golf tournament victory in Nakuru

Handicap 7 golfer Daniel Ndeke swung into victory at the FiveTalent Kenya golf tournament played today at Nakuru golf club.

Playing on home club, Ndeke carded a solid 45 stable ford points, beating his competitor Njuguna Njoka with a big margin of five points.

The champion registerd a sloppy start, dropping a shot in one and two pars 4 recovered with a par on third par 4. But that did not help as he bogeyed in 4 and 5 pars 3 and 4 sunk deeper, dropping two on 6th par 4 dropped a shot in 7 and 8 pars 4 before ending the first nine with two shots dropped for 20 points

On resumption, he dropped on 10th, 11th and 12th pars 4, recovered well when he parred on 13th par 5, dropped two in 14th par 4, before he parred in 15th par 3, 16th par 5 but dropped two in 17th par 3 before ending the tournament after dropping a shot on 18th par 5 with 25 points

Handicap five Njoka fired 40 points as Shamil Nanji completed the podium with a point less on 39 leading Umarpal Jetley on count back as Stephen Kihumba recorded 38 points for 5th position.

Jetley was also the man’s winner on 39 while Brenda Maiyo won lady’s title on 34 points.

Sarat Singh was the gross winner when he fired 35 gross before Railways club’s J. Kamenyi taking home guest winners prize on 36 points as Wasim Ali won the junior category on 37 points followed by Gladys Koinange.

First and second  nines were won by David Mathai and Charles Angweny on 21 and 20 points respectively.
