Beryl Wamira was the dominat Kenyan winning double bronze medals at the ongoing 24th edition of Deaflympics Games in Caxias Do Sul in Brazil at the Sesi Centro Esportivo Athletics Track
Yesterday, Wamira won a bronze in 200m before adding her double bronze in the 4x400m relay where team Kenya has amassed 16 medals with three gold, four silver, and nine bronze ahead of Monday final compeiton day.
In the 200m, Wamira clocked 25.20 to clinch a bronze medal behind French international Pamera Losange, (23.93) and Oceana Brown of the USA in 24.92.
Wamira later led Team Kenya in bagging a bronze medal in the women’s 4×100 relay. The relay team comprised her sister Rael Wamira, Anzazi Nyundo, and Linet Nanjala where Ukraine won gold while the US took silver.
Beryl and Rael said they will share their proceeds from the medals won with their brother David Wamira who did not win a medal after suffering an injury in the preliminary 100m rounds.
