Mumias golfer Dismas Indiza moved into the second position in the ongoing inaugural Malawi Open Golf Championships in par 72 Lilongwe Golf Club.
Indiza moved into the position after firing one under par 71 to close on the leader Tranos Muradzikwa from Zimbabwe who played two under par on Friday to tie in the first position with Sujan Shah who dropped to 9th today.
Indiza fired three rounds total of two over par 218 to lose by four shots behind Muradzikwa ahead of Sunday fourth and final round. The leader Muradzikwa meanwhile played a conservative level par 72 to keep his lead on two under par 214 and it will be do or die for the Zimbabwean who will be in the same flight with Indiza in Sunday’s round.
Sigona’s Shah sunk eight over par 80 to drop to ninth place where he is level with Namibia’s Douglas Roux on three rounds total of six over par 222.
Closing the day on three over par 219, just a shot behind Indiza was Zambia’s Dayne Moore, a Sunshine Tour player who shot level par 72 in the third round. On the other hand, Thika Sports Club’s Simon Ngige remained in fourth place this time with four over par 220, with another Kenyan David Wakhu tying fifth on 221 after a two over par 74.
Three other Kenyans Tony Omuli, Erick Ooko and Greg Snow were tied on 11th with 223 with Snow having fired one under par 71 for the day.
