Kitale Showground will be hosting Falcons Derby when Trans Nzoia Falcons play Eldoret Falcons in the Kenya Women Premier league (KWPL) clash as Eldoret seeks the sixth win in a row.
With three points separating each other, Trans Nzoia’s 44 and Eldoret’s 41, the clash will be the fight for honours following their one all draw in the first leg at University of Eldoret grounds.
On Wednesday Eldoret Falcons thrashed Makolanders 7-1 and that has delighted head-coach Josphat Pilishi who said the match will be tough because the players know each other very well has to ensure they collect much needed points.
“Playing a derby is challenging and that is why we are working our way out by training well ahead of the match on Sunday,” said Pilisi.
Cynthia Mukhanji netted a hat-trick, Janet Bundi Moraa scoring a brace as Irene Namaemba and Elizabeth Mulupi were on score sheet as they thrashed Makolanders with Neddy Atieno scoring a consolation for the home team.
Last Sunday, The Falcons blasted Mathare United Women 3-0 followed by a 2-0 win against Kayole Starlets, won by a solitary goal away to Mombasa Olympic and 3-0 thrashing of Spedag in Eldoret.
“As a coach, I am preparing my team well to ensure that we collect maximum points because our opponents are above us and it is a tough team unlike other teams in the league,” added Pilisi.
“I will make some changes for the team that played against Makolanders because one player (Anne Awino) is injured though we will check her progress on Saturday,” added Pilisi.
