Eliud Kipchoge face Mbappe, Modric, LeBro, Hamilton at Laureus award

Reigning Olympic marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge will be face French football youngster Kylian Mbappe, Croatia football player Luka Modric, tennis player Novak Djokovic, Los Angeles NBA basketball king LeBron James for 2018 Laureus World Sportsman of the year.

The world marathon record holder will be battling for top honours after winning IAAF athlete of the year, Sports Personality of the year (SOYA) Kenya among other accolades after breaking the world marathon record on 16th September 2018 during Berlin marathon race in Germany.

The two time London marathon champion will be facing football, tennis and basketball stars Mbappe who won the FIFA world cup title with France, the 2018 World Cup best player Modric, who featured in Croatian team that won silver at FIFA world cup in Russia and Ballon d’Or.

Also nominated is tennis star Djokovic and basketball player James who turns out for Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the USA and Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Kipchogeenjoys a marathon record of 2:01.39.
