Eliud Kipchoge fall short as Ouria, Kahhaz top at Port Alegre marathon

Two-time Olympic Games marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge failed to shine at the Port Alegre marathon held July 12th, 2026, in Brazil.

The Kenyan marathon finished in 12th position in a race won by Moroccan pair of Zinedine Ouria in men and Kaoutar Kahhaz for women.

Returning in Brazil after ten years when he won the Olympic Marathon title way back in 2016, the former marathon world record holder, Kipchoge crossed the finish line in 2:18:42, nearly 10 minutes behind Ouria.

In women, Kahhaz clocked 2:33:01 for the title.
