Reigning champions Equity Bank and Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) qualified to play into the semifinals of the ongoing FIBA Africa Zone 5 women’s championship in Dar-es-salaam. Tanzania.
With all the semifinalists remaining unbeaten in the tournament, the two Kenyan teams may face off at the finals if they beat their opponents in tomorrow’s semifinals.
Champions Equity Bank will be battling out with Ugandan side JKL and KPA face Rwandese side, APR at the semis.
Both teams remain unbeaten in the six-day tournament and are very much the sides to beat. The matches to be played at the national stadium will tip-off from 6 pm.
Equity Bank beat APR 68-59 in pool B and beat Don Bosco of Tanzania and Les Gazelles of Burundi.
KPA made it to the last four with a 68-47 victory over JKT of Tanzania. The porters led 37-22 to lead in Pool A.
Last year, Equity Bank beat KPA to win the title.
