Erick Kimutai Kering won the second edition of the Gran Canaria Maspalomas Marathon where he failed to set a new course record, running the slowest time.
The Kenyan won the title in 2:27.04 failing to lower his compatriot Willian Ruto’s record of 2:18:00 set last year.
He beat Cristian Expósito to second in 2:35:42 while Enrique Delgado was third timing 2:38:32.
In women, Rebeca Ruiz won the title in 2:58:01 ahead of second placed Cristina Saturnino (3:01:31) and Sonia Prieto for third in 3:04:06.
