Erick Kiptanui wins silver as Ethiopians control Dubai marathon

Eric Kiptanui was the only Kenyan runner at the second edition of Dubai marathon where he finished second.

After pace-setting at Ineos 1:59 Challenge in October made his debut, finishing in second with 2:06:17 behind winner Olika Adugna Bikila of Ethiopia who timed 2:06:15.

Abeje Ayana, Tesfaye Anbessa, Atnafu Zerihun finished third, fourth and fifth respectively in the men’s category.

In women Ethiopians doinated the race Degefa Debele Worknesh clocked 2:19:38 won the race followed by compatriots Shone Amana, Hirpa Badane, Abayechew Jabore and Dida Yami who finished second, third and fourth respectively.
